During my Master's final year, I designed ELAWASH — a plastic-free handwashing device responding to the global plastic pollution crisis and the lack of sanitation access in rural Ethiopia.

Grounded in human-centred design and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the device can be adapted and produced entirely by local communities using locally sourced materials like clay — making clean handwashing accessible and affordable for every household.
